If you’ve enabled the motion alerts for your stick-up cam, but still the camera is not detecting motions, you should check and fix your Wi-Fi connection.

If you are connected to a slow or faulty Wi-Fi connection, you’ll not receive any kind of detection alerts or footage on your phone.

You should check your Wi-Fi network speed and ensure it is working correctly by connecting to a mobile or laptop.

Open the web browser on your connected device; if you cannot open/ use the browser, your network connection is faulty and must be fixed.

Also, you can use online Wi-Fi speed tester softwares, which can provide you with the exact speed of your network.

Here are steps on how you can fix your Internet connection:

1. Change Router Position

A common reason for the slow Wi-Fi connection can be the router’s position. If your router is placed far from the cam, it will cause slow Wi-Fi and detection issues.

So, you should check the router position and ensure if it is far from the cam, you should reposition the router and bring it closer to the Ring device.

You should also look for a kind of internet interference that is slowing down your Wi-Fi connection and move them away from the camera and router.

2. Reset Router

Here is how you can reset your Ring cam:

1. Ensure the router is switched on.

When you are installing your camera, you should avoid a few things; don’t place the camera facing a glass surface, next to the light or a solid surface.

Why is Ring Camera Not Detecting Motion At Night?

Your Ring camera motion detection might not work when it faces the street light directly flashing towards it.

This issue can also be due to the motion notifications being disabled for your camera or the night vision isn’t enabled.

So, in this situation, you should ensure to move the camera away from the flashing street light towards it.
