Effortless Lighting: Gosund Smart LED Bulb – No Hub Needed

Gosund is one of the best suppliers of high-quality smart devices such as lights, switches, plugs, and outlets.

In this article, I’ll talk about the Gosund Smart Wifi LED Bulbs [WB3 or A60]. The specs from the box state the bulbs run at 8W (dimmable), fits the E26 configuration, and run at 800 Lumens. They give you colors within the RGB +W (Red-Green-Blue, White) spectrum with color temperatures varying between 2700K-6000K.

It doesn’t require a hub which makes it a good fit for your home. Let’s go ahead and check this product!

Setup

The setup is quite simple. All you need is the Smart Life App by Tuyu which you can get from Google Play or the App Store.

The bulbs are compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa but I have not tried them on the Apple ecosystem yet.

Also, you’ll need a 2.4 GHz Wifi connection. The Smart Life app will run you through the setup:

  1. Turn off the power to the light socket (E26).
  2. Remove the old bulb; replace it with Gosund Smart WiFi LED Bulb (WB3).
  3. The smart bulb will start to flash.
  4. Add the bulb by pressing the [+] button. The app will walk through the location (family room, kitchen, etc.).
  5. Give a few minutes to let Google Home pick up the bulbs if you want to run them via Google Assistant. You will need to connect the Smart Life App in Google Home.

How do you program a Gosund light?

Here’s how to program your Gosund app for the smart switch:

  1. Download the Gosund app.
  2. Make sure your phone and the smart dimmer switch are on the same WiFi router with a 2.4G signal.
  3. Turn on the smart switch and long press the ON/OFF button for pairing mode.
  4. Pair the smart device.

Why won’t my smart bulb connect to my WiFi?

If you’re using a 5 GHz WiFi, it won’t work with the smart bulb. You need a 2.4 GHz network to connect with the smart bulb.

Also, be sure that your phone isn’t using a VPN app in the background as it may trigger the connection.

Summary – Good Bulbs, Easy Setup

These are now my second set of programmable Smart LED bulbs. I’m starting to get used to asking Google Assistant to change the color of my kitchen lights to whatever the kids ask for that evening. It’s fun. Try changing the color to match your nation’s colors or set up a routine to change the colors to your favorite sports team’s colors when they win. Give it a try!

One thing that I noticed right away about these bulbs is the humming noise coming from them. However, it might not be noticeable or could be negligible. The bulbs seem to be a great fit for the home.
