These are possible solutions that you should try first.

Quick Fixes

  • Reboot your router; it can have glitches
  • Power cycle the camera by plugging and unplugging it
  • Check your internet or router
  • Keep the Wyze camera closer to the base station
  • Update the Wyze app or force quit it
  • Factory reset your Wyze camera
  • It can have technical problems

Reboot Router

You should reboot the router if it faces connectivity and range issues; it is the simplest way to fix it. So, this method will not take much time and will fix the slow connection, no connection, and other wireless connectivity issues.

How can reboot fix the connecting issues? As with many computers, wifi routers have their own motherboard, memory, and software. These components can cause several issues with the router. The router has a need to restart and clear caches as the computer.

You can reboot it by the following steps:

  1. Unplug the router from the electric socket
  2. Wait for 15 seconds
  3. Plug the router into a power source, and after 1 to 2 minutes, turn it on
  4. Wait until the LEDs on the router turn on before testing the connection
  5. And then connect with your Wyze camera and check the connection

Plug and Unplug the Camera

Your camera can also have software glitches, and that’s why it keeps going offline. So, if the camera is offline, you should try power cycling the camera by plugging and unplugging it into the power socket.

You should unplug the power cable from the power socket and camera and wait 1 minute to keep the camera turned off. Then plug the cable into a power socket and insert the other end into the camera; wait until the camera is completely powered on.

When reboots the camera, you should pair it with the base station and router to test if the issues are fixed.

Internet or Router Issue

You should check your internet connection; it can be faulty, and that’s why the camera keeps going offline. And ensure the router is connected correctly. If the router is not working, you should reboot it.

If still camera is offline, you should use another internet source to check if it is working. If the camera works correctly with the new internet connection, the previous router you were using is faulty.

Check Micro USB Cable

Check the micro USB cable; it can be faulty or not connected correctly to the camera. Firstly you should remove the cable from the camera and insert it again correctly into the Wyze camera.

On the other hand, ensure the cable is not faulty; if it is faulty, you should use a new micro USB cable with your Wyze camera. And verify that camera is not working without issues.

To check your original USB cable, you should insert it into another camera, and if the new camera is not working with this cable, then your cable is faulty.

Keep Closer to Base Station

If your Wyze camera is too far from the base station, the camera can keep going offline due to weak signals. You can use the camera in the 300 feet range for open fields. However, this can be decreased if solid materials, such as buildings and radio waves, are in the way.

When the camera is offline, pair it manually with the base station, and ensure it is closer to the 6 feet range. When it connects with the base station, you can install it anywhere in the 300 feet range.

Fix Wyze App Issue

Wyze cameras share all activities with the Wyze phone app; if the app has caches, the camera can keep going offline. So, you should ensure that the app is up to date, and if you do not have to install the latest update for this app, you should install it instantly.

How to update the Wyze camera app?

  1. Open Google Play Store on your phone
  2. Tap on the profile icon from the top right corner
  3. Then tap Manage apps & devices (the app with the new update will be labelled “update available”)
  4. Tap on Update

On the other hand, you can force quit the Wyze app and then open it on your phone. And try to connect the camera. Check to ensure that the issues no more exist.

Factory Reset

Your camera has its own motherboard and software etc., as your mobile or computer, it also needs to reset to fix glitches and remove caches. If the Wyze camera is still not charging, you should perform a factory reset on it.

Factory reset will remove all settings files on the camera and it back to default settings. It means you will need to pair it again.

You can follow the below steps to reset it.

  1. Remove the micro SD card if you have inserted it.
  2. Press and hold the setup button for about 10 seconds while plugged into the power socket. This will reset your Wyze camera.
  3. Then wait for at least 30 seconds for the unit to initiate
  4. And the device’s LED status will change from solid yellow to blinking yellow.
  5. For Wyze Cam v3 only: The light will turn red
  6. Now your Wyze camera is ready to pair again.

If the camera is under warranty, you should replace it and get a new one. You can also ask their customer support for possible solutions.
